I formally propose a new English word for your consideration.

mystalgia – noun – \mi-ˈstal-jə \

1 : the state of being homesick (but not for one’s own home)

2 : a yearning for the return of past circumstances, events, etc. that never actually existed (i.e. the good ol’ days)

Many white male conservatives suffer from a mystalgia for a much simpler and fairer time: the 1950’s.
